چکیده

2014 Within the two-potential formalism a general set of t matrix integral equations is obtained which describes the scattering of a neutral particle by a periodic potential. Furthermore a projection method is developed which allows us in the case of resonance, to get a new set of equations in which the resonance singularities do not appear. This formalism is applied to the Morse corrugated potential. The integral equation set is solved by an iterative process and in this way an exact solution is obtained. The convergence of the iterative expansion is studied and an approximate convergence criterion is found. Results are compared with those given by an equivalent exponential corrugated potential which demonstrates the influence of the well and potential slope on the distribution of the intensities among the different diffracted beams. In order to have a precise determination of the corrugation function it is shown that it is necessary to use a realistic potential and also to avoid approximate methods for the calculation of intensities. Classical singularities in chaotic atom-surface scattering.

In this paper we show that the diffraction condition for the scattering of atoms from surfaces leads to the appearance of a distinct type of classical singularity. Moreover, it is also shown that the onset of classical trapping or classical chaos is closely related to the bifurcation set of the diffraction-order function around the surface points presenting the rainbow effect. As an illustratio...

Surface-scattering study of the interaction potential of He atoms with the step edges of the Cu(211) and Cu(511) vicinal surfaces.

The diffraction intensities of He atoms scattered from vicinal Cu~211! and Cu~511! surfaces have been measured with a high angular resolution over a wide range of incident energies from 8 to 82 meV. Closecoupling scattering calculations with a corrugated Morse potential were performed to obtain the corrugation parameters for the first three complex Fourier coefficients. The energy-dependent cor...

A New Modification of Morse Potential Energy Function

Interaction of meso — tetrakis (p-sulphonato phenyl) porphyrin (hereafter abbreviated to TSPP)with Na+ has been examined using HF level of theory with 6-31G* basis set. Counterpoise (CP)correction has been used to show the extent of the basis set superposition error (BSSE) on thepotential energy curves. The numbers of Na+ have a significant effect on the calculated potentialenergy curve (includ...

شبیه سازی خواص الاستیک نانو کامپوزیت Al-SiC با استفاده از روش دینامیک مولکولی

In the present work, molecular dynamics simulation method was used for determining Young's modulus, Shear modulus and Poisson’s ratio of Al-SiC nanocomposites, with different volume fractions of the reinforcements. For simulation, the open source package, LAMMPS, was used. After putting Aluminum and Silicon Carbide atoms in their initial positions, interatomic potentials between them were defi...

Helium-surface interaction potential of Sb(111) from scattering experiments and close-coupling calculations

Helium atom scattering (HAS) was used to study the antimony Sb(111) surface beyond the hard-wall model. HAS angular distributions and drift spectra show a number of selective adsorption resonance features, which correspond to five bound-state energies for He atoms trapped in the surface-averaged He-Sb(111) potential. As their best representation, a 9-3 potential with a depth of 4.4 ± 0.1 meV wa...
